Thank You Gaylord Texan
We had a Girls Weekend planned for this past weekend at the Gaylord Texan. When we showed up all happy to check in, we were told there was no reservation for us. We had driven four and a half hours from Louisiana to stay at the Gaylord and enjoy the Grapevine Wine tours. "Are you kidding me !?" I shouted. Spending what seemed to be forever trying to figure out what went wrong, the bottom line was the Gaylord had no reservation and no rooms. We were stuck (So we thought). The concierge was quick to locate the Doc Holliday House of which she thought was a BnB (Bed and Breakfast). She quickly put us on the phone with Mary Ann whom was really kind and explained we could view the place before committing. We got in our car and drove about a mile and a half into a darling area of Grapevine. Mary Ann input an access code (We don't know how) into the door which allowed us to enter without a key. When we walked in, we were blown away! OMG, this place it just too cool for words. It was so well decorated and each of us had our own bedroom versus two beds in the same room as Gaylord. There was a welcome bottle of wine for us and everything was just perfect. We walked to Main Street which is only a block from the house and had a great meal. We also went to two wine tasting rooms that evening and met some really nice Texan's. The next morning we walked up to Main Street and had one of the best breakfasts of my life at the French Bakery. We have never heard of VRBO before this experience. We were so sad to leave but so happy to know we are coming back. Thank you Gaylord and thank you Mary Ann.
